Behind Dreams Of Learning
I have been a public school teacher in Northeast Florida for over 5 years. I am very passionate about teaching history in a way that is creative and thought-provoking.
I am an experienced professional in the fields of history and education. I live in Florida with my husband, my children, my dogs and my village. I am passionate about history and reading and making those topics exciting and relevant to students. My first year was 2019, which was spent online after March because of the pandemic, which forced me to learn how to craft digital and printable resources. I almost did not return to teaching after my second year of teaching, but I’ve grown to enjoy my teaching career after my fourth year of teaching. Now I’m constantly thinking about my profession, and how I can make it better. I even have ideas when I am dreaming... I believe students need to think critically and be able to analyze primary sources, but with fun, engaging activities that are memorable. I want my students to appreciate the knowledge they gained from my class. Every May, testing season arrives and teachers feel pressure about the scores. Although, we can’t possibly learn all the standards, I am here to help by creating memorable lessons and review activities to use throughout the school year. My goal is to save teachers energy and time.
